The Blue Dolls are a vocal trio in the style of the Trio Lescano, with a full repertoire of Italian songs from the swing era (1930-1940) and from more recent masterpieces of Italian swing and pop music.

During the '30 and '40 in Italy there were several swing composers, arrangers and band leaders, among them, Alberto Rabagliati, Pippo Barzizza, Gorni Kramer, who filled the Italian top charts: "Maramao perché sei morto, Baciami Piccina, Ciribiribin, Non dimenticar le mie parole, Ma l'amore no" are among the songs contained in the Blue Dolls' shows.

In the 50's many of these songs were adopted by Italian-American performers, such as Louis Prima, Dean Martin, Tony Bennet, but also by jazz icons such as Louis Armstrong and Count Basie (remember his famous rendition of Ciribiribin).

Now the Blue Dolls Trio offers you the music of this era in its original format. The vocal Soprano-Soprano-Alto trio, whose members – Viviana Dragani, Angelica Dettori, Flavia Barbacetto - in spite of their young age, have excellent backgrounds in musical and opera singing in starring roles. The completeness of the show is assured by the fact that the three girls are also very good dancers.

The trio is well sustained by the rhythm section composed of Marco Parodi, guitarist and arranger of the group, whose background covers 20 years as performer in the swing and manouche styles, Paolo Volante, pianist, leader and promoter of the group, Riccardo Vigorè, one of the best double bass players in the Milan area and Luca Rigazio, excellent drummer, pupil of Bobby Durham.

The show includes elegant costumes and the choreographed movements by Elena Delmastro, choreographer and dance teacher from La Scala Theatre.

The Blue Dolls since their debut in 2005 at the Teatro Piccolo Regio in Torino performed in many famous theatres such as the Carlo Felice in Genova, the Teatro dell'Unione in Viterbo, the National theatre in Podgorica, the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona (Switzerland) and at the major italian and european jazz club such as the BLUE NOTE, Milan, the "Cotton Club" in Rome and "L'Inoui" in Luxembourg.

They took part in important festivals such as the Montreux Jazz festival, the Spasimo Festival in Palermo (Brass Group), the Ravello Festival, "Donne in Jazz" at the Teatro Vittoria, Ortona (Ch).

The Blue Dolls climbed the ladder of success thanks to several appearances on Italian nationwide TV programs, including ‘Markette’, hosted by Piero Chiambretti (LA 7), the ‘Maurizio Costanzo Show’ (CANALE 5), ‘Stella’ hosted by Maurizio Costanzo (Sky Vivo), ‘Cominciamo bene - prima‘ hosted by Pino Strabioli (RAI 3), ‘Cominciamo bene - Estate’, hosted by Michele Mirabella (RAI 3), ‘Cantando Ballando’ hosted by Marco Predolin (Milano +), ‘L’Italia sul 2’ (RAI 2) and ‘Sanremo Off ’ (RAI 1). The Blue Dolls are also good anchorwomen, in fact they were requested to present the 2008 edition of "I've seen films" festival together with the famous actor Rutger Hauer.

In 2008 the trio received the nomination as Best Jazz Singer at the Italian Jazz Awards.
